Many may not know this but Borderlands 2 is taking 95.6% more guns into battle than the original Boderlands. How many is that in specific numbers? That's a question not even Gearbox chief skag-wrangler Randy Pitchford knows.
“Conceivably we could use the procedural system to tell us,” he in an interview with Eurogamer. “We made the claim ‘lots of guns’. I worked out there’s actually more guns in Borderlands than in every other first-person shooter ever launched on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 all added together. And Borderlands 2 breaks that, and probably if you even included Borderlands 1. Probably! I haven’t done the math.”
He also said that this time around, players would see more completely different types of weapons, rather than minor variations on multiple models.
“There are enough where it doesn’t matter,” he explained. “It really doesn’t matter. If you imagine there’s a lot more, but you also see the variety is wilder than Borderlands.”
Gearbox also recently revealed that players of the original Borderlands will unlock special costumes in Borderlands 2 with their save file.
